Rundbrief 9: Liebe Mitglieder und Freunde der Brücke Inc.
So schnell verging 2011 und das Weihnachtsfest steht vor der Tür, für viele ein Fest der Freude und des Gebens, für andere eine Zeit der Einsamkeit und Erinnerungen. In einer idealen Welt würde es im Rahmen unserer Unterstützungs Tätigkeit möglich sein gerade für die alleinstehenden Senioren unserer Mitglieder, einige heimatliche Stunden zu spenden. Wir haben das in der Tat mit einem "Weihnachten im Juni" im Feriendorf am Colo River eingefädelt indem etwa 80 Personen vom St. Raphaels Altersheim bewirtet wurden und ein verfrühtes Christfest verbringen konnten, ohne Frage ein grosser Erfolg. Natürlich kann die "Brücke" in Ihrer Rolle als Dachorganisation der deutschsprachigen Vereine und Organisationen in Australien und Neu Seeland, keine eigenen Einnahmen hat, von Sponsoren und Mitgliedsbeiträgen finanziell abhängig, nur diese Aufgaben ausführen kann, wenn diese finanziellen Beiträge eingehalten werden. Leider sehen Leute welche durch die "Brücke" den Mitgliedern empfohlen, über die Jahre eine substantielle Firma aufgebaut, Ihrem "Sponsorship" der Brücke, nicht zu ehren brauchen. Ich habe diese Situation fürs erste nur veröffentlicht um den Stimmen entgegen zu treten, die im Wahn stehen das die Brücke unbeschränkte Mittel besitzt und der Vorstand bezahlte Reisen und Unterkünfte bekommt, dagegen kann ich nur mitteilen das jeder Vertreter der Klubs die Zureisen und Unterkünfte zu Sitzungsorten aus eigener Tasche bestreitet. Kein schönes Thema, muss es doch gesagt werden um einmal Klarheit zu schaffen.
Möchte nicht vergessen die Gedenkfeier am Ehrendenkmal in Melbourne und Sydney welche alljährlich würdevoll unter Mitwirkung vom Konsulat, Kirchen und Chören ausgeführt werden. Dank denen die diese Tradition aufrecht erhalten und pflegen! Es ist zu hoffen das die nächsten sieben Monate des Geschäftsjahres erfolgreich und konstruktiv sind, das alle deutschsprechenden Vereine, Schulen, Wohlfahrtsorganisationen und religiösen Gemeinden mehr interaktiv denken und handeln. Auf der sportlichen Seite wird im Mitjahr wieder eine "Brücke" Postal Airrifle Comp, sowie ein Pokalskat abgehalten. Andere sponsored Veranstaltungen mögen von unseren Mitgliedern bitte an den "Brücke" Sekretär gerichtet werden.

Circular 9: Dear members and friends of the Brücke Inc.
Time flew for 2010, Christmas is at the door, for many a time of joy and giving, for others a time of loneliness and memories. In an ideal world it should be possible within our frame of sponsored activities, especially for the seniors of our members, to create a few festive hours, reminiscent of Christmas in the
homeland. Indeed we made a provisional start with a "Christmas in June" held at the Feriendorf at Colo River, where we hosted 80 seniors from the St. Raphaels Retirement village, no doubt a great success. A well received 'early' Christmas. Certainly, the "Brücke" as the Head Council of the german speaking clubs and organisations in Australia and New Zealand, has no income of its own, relies on membership fees and sponsors to function financially, which is only possible when these commitments are honoured. Unfortunately people who through original introduction and recommendations of the 'Brücke' to the member clubs were able to build this into a substantial business, whereas they decided to cease to honour their sponsorship commitments. I disclose this matter erstwhile to refute the assumption of many people, who think the 'Brücke' has unlimited funds and finance
the trips and accommodations of the committee and delegates to meetings. I can assure that all these things are paid out of the individuals private pocket. Not a pleasant theme, but necessary to clear matters.
I must not forget the Remembrances at Melbourne and the Memorial at Sydney Rookwood Cemetery to honour the deaths of two World Wars, yearly celebrated with the Consulate, the churches, choirs, clubs and other organizations. A great thanks to those who keep this Tradition alive and remember the forgotten.
It is my hope that the remaining seven months of our business year will be successful and constructive, that all german speaking clubs, schools, welfare societies and religious communities co-operate and are working interactive. At sporting level, there will be a mid-year "Brücke" air rifle postal shooting competition and a "Brücke" Cup Skat competition.
